How to Format and Fix Corrupted USB Flash Drives?

When formatting the flash drive, there is an option called “File System“. Now choose “FAT“. Remember this is not FAT32. After that just click on format and wait.

When you try to remove a USB pendrive by using “Safely Remove Hardware > Safely remove USB Mass Storage device” option, windows should stop all the read and write operations on the drive so that the drive can be safely removed without damaging the files stored inside the drive.

This error occur when there are some files located in your pen drive are in used by some running applications. Try closing all such files or applications such as windows explorer and try removing the drive.
