How to Format and Fix Corrupted USB Flash Drives?

Simply right click on your pendrive or usb flash drive in windows explorer and choose format it.

When formatting the flash drive, there is an option called “File System“. Now choose “FAT“. Remember this is not FAT32. After that just click on format and wait.

After that you can continue using your flash drive like normal.

Generic Volume Cannot Be Stopped Right Now

When you try to remove a USB pendrive by using “Safely Remove Hardware > Safely remove USB Mass Storage device” option, windows should stop all the read and write operations on the drive so that the drive can be safely removed without damaging the files stored inside the drive.

If you encountered this error “Generic Volume Cannot Be Stopped Right Now” messages

Try using the following solution:

This error occur when there are some files located in your pen drive are in used by some running applications. Try closing all such files or applications such as windows explorer and try removing the drive.

If you still cannot remove your usb drives try this second method which require you to download file unlocker utility.

How To Safely Remove USB Pen Drive with Unlocker?

1. Download Unlocker from here and install it on your computer.
2. Right click on your USB pen drive in my computer and select Unlocker.
3. Next, click Unlock All
4. Now you can remove your pen drive normally using “Safely Remove Hardware”

Delete Temporary Internet Files For More Space

If you are one of the regular internet user, make sure you delete your temporary internet files regularly. You can do this by clicking Tools and Internet Options in your Internet Explorer menu. Problem with Internet Explorer and Firefox

If you have problem running Internet Explorer or Firefox, and want to use Internet Explorer as usual, you can disable all the addons and run IE or Firefox.

Run Firefox Without Extensions
- Go to the Run dialog by going to Start > Run
- Type firefox -safe-mode

Run Internet Explorer Without Addons
- Go to Start > Run
- Type iexplore -extoff

Backup Firefox Bookmarks Online

Since Firefox bookmark is saved in your harddisk under your Firefox profiles, there is no way to access the bookmarks from another computer.

Follow these steps to install the Firefox Foxmarks add-on so that you can backup them online and restore it on another computer.

Step 1: Download the add-on using your Firefox browser http://www.foxmarks.com/

Step 2: Install the add-on by clicking the “install now” button.

Step 2: Install the same plugin to your other computer’s Firefox browser. This add-on allow you to restore the bookmarks on another computer.

Step 3: Follow the Foxmarks setup screen. Enter your username, email address and password to be able to create an account for Foxmarks.

Step 4: At other computers, login to FoxMarks to see the bookmarks uploaded from your previous computer.
